I am excited to be the new music and band director at Lewis!  I graduated from Texas State University, San Marcos, with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and have been teaching for ten years.  I began my teaching career in the Austin, Texas area, which is where I grew up.  My first job was teaching fourth grade at Forest North Elementary in Round Rock ISD.  This was the school I attended in first through fifth grades!  Then I moved to Raye McCoy Elementary in Georgetown ISD, where I taught fifth grade math and science.  Later I moved to Dodge City and taught fourth grade, fifth grade, pep band, and music at Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School and sixth grade math at Dodge City Middle School.  During this time I took additional coursework in music through Valley City State University and Dodge City Community College. I have also worked as a substitute teacher, summer school teaching assistant, and in youth programs.  I currently teach ESL classes at the DCCC Adult Learning Center, and previously taught GED preparation.  In my spare time, I play tuba and euphonium in the Dodge City Symphony, DCCC Pep Band, and Dodge City Cowboy Band.
